A fully set watch that keeps its composure
Nine hundred and forty-six stones, and not one of them raises its voice.
The craft
The square case, the bezel and the dial are set with 946 moissanite stones, 8.15 carats in all by the maker’s specification, around blue sword hands and a date window at six o’clock. A blue cabochon sits in the crown. Beneath the sapphire crystal runs the Miyota 8215, a Japanese automatic calibre that winds itself as you wear it and can also be wound by hand. The stainless-steel case measures 40 mm across, 47.8 mm lug to lug and 11 mm thick; the leather strap tapers from 21 to 18 mm to a stone-set folding clasp. The dial is offered in four variations; the gallery shows Roman and Eastern Arabic numerals, in black and in color.
On the wrist
The leather strap is what makes a fully set watch welcome at a dinner table. It softens the light, lets the square case sit flat beneath a cuff, and turns what the street would call iced out into something closer to jewelry. Wear it to a wedding, an opening or an anniversary dinner — anywhere a white shirt and a dark jacket would do.

Questions, answered
Are the stones diamonds?
No. They are moissanite — 946 stones, 8.15 carats in all by the maker's specification. Moissanite is a lab-grown gemstone harder than sapphire, with more fire than diamond.
Does it need a battery?
No. The Miyota 8215 is an automatic calibre: it winds itself as you wear it, and a few turns of the crown will start it if it has stopped. The maker quotes a power reserve of more than 40 hours.
What size wrist does it suit?
It is 40 mm wide and 47.8 mm lug to lug, which sits comfortably on a wrist of about 16.5 to 19 cm (6.5 to 7.5 in). A square, fully set case wears slightly larger than a round one of the same width.
Can I swim with it?
No. It is rated 5 ATM, which covers splashes and hand-washing. Take it off before swimming or showering; the leather strap should also be kept dry.
