Men's Analog Watches

Our men’s analog watches tell the time the classical way, with hands and indices on a dial, set with moissanite or cubic zirconia on the bezel, the dial or the whole case. They run on automatic or quartz calibres, and every listing names the movement, and the crystal and case size wherever the maker publishes them.

Reading an analog dial

Hours and minutes by hand, the seconds by a sweep or a step, and indices marking the hours. On a gem-set dial the indices are often stones themselves, which is why a well-set analog dial stays legible: the hands sit above the light, not within it.

Automatic or quartz beneath the dial

An automatic's seconds hand sweeps; a quartz hand steps once a second. Both are honest watches, and each listing names the movement inside.

Common questions

Analog or digital?

An analog watch shows the time with hands on a dial; a digital watch shows numerals on a display. Analog is the traditional choice for dress and statement pieces; digital offers instant legibility and functions such as an alarm.

Automatic or quartz?

An automatic winds itself from the motion of your wrist and needs no battery; a quartz watch runs on a battery and is typically the more accurate. Each listing names its movement.

What is an index on a dial?

An index is the marker at each hour position, used in place of numerals. On a gem-set dial the indices are often single stones, so the hours are marked in light.
