A clear dial in a field of light
Black, blue, white, red or orange at the center; seventeen and a half carats of moissanite everywhere else.
The craft
The case, the bezel and every link of the bracelet are set with 2,300 moissanite stones, 17.6 carats in all by the maker’s specification, leaving the dial clear: applied baton indices, a date window at three o’clock and a choice of black, blue, white, red or orange. Beneath the sapphire crystal runs the Miyota 8215, a Japanese automatic calibre, visible through the exhibition case back. The stainless-steel case measures 41 mm across, 47.5 mm lug to lug and 11 mm thick, in steel or gold-tone; the bracelet tapers from 21 to 16 mm, and the watch weighs about 180 g.
On the wrist
The plain dial is what makes a fully set bracelet wearable in daylight. It gives the eye somewhere to rest, so the setting reads as richness rather than noise — at the office with a navy suit, or at dinner with an open collar.

Questions, answered
Are the stones diamonds?
No. They are moissanite, 2,300 stones, 17.6 carats in all by the maker’s specification: a lab-grown gemstone harder than sapphire, with more fire than diamond. We never describe it as diamond.
Does it need a battery?
No. The Miyota 8215 is an automatic calibre: it winds itself as you wear it, and a few turns of the crown will start it if it has stopped. Its maker quotes a power reserve of more than 40 hours.
Is it heavy?
About 180 g by the maker’s figure, the weight of a fully set steel bracelet watch. A jeweler can remove links for a closer fit.
Can I swim with it?
No. It is rated 5 ATM, which covers splashes and hand-washing. Take it off before swimming or showering.
