Nineteen carats, in perfect order
A square case, roman numerals and 19.2 carats of moissanite, laid out with the discipline of a well-cut suit.
The craft
The case, the dial and every link of the bracelet are set with 3,302 moissanite stones, 19.2 carats in all by the maker’s specification, with screw details along the bracelet and a blue cabochon in the crown. The dial carries Roman numerals and a date window. Beneath the sapphire crystal runs the Miyota 8215, a Japanese automatic calibre, in a stainless-steel case 40 mm across, 47.8 mm lug to lug and 11 mm thick. The finish comes in steel, gold-tone, rose-tone or two-tone.
On the wrist
A fully set square watch on a matching bracelet is the formal wear of gem-set watches. Wear it with a dark suit and a white shirt, and let nothing else on the wrist compete.

Questions, answered
Are the stones diamonds?
No. They are moissanite, 3,302 stones, 19.2 carats in all by the maker's specification: a lab-grown gemstone harder than sapphire, with more fire than diamond. We never describe it as diamond.
Does it need a battery?
No. The Miyota 8215 is an automatic calibre: it winds itself as you wear it, and a few turns of the crown will start it if it has stopped. Its maker quotes a power reserve of more than 40 hours.
Can the bracelet be shortened?
Yes. A local jeweler can remove links for a closer fit. At 40 mm wide and 47.8 mm lug to lug, the case suits a wrist of about 16 to 19 cm (6.3 to 7.5 in).
Can I swim with it?
No. It is rated 5 ATM, which covers splashes and hand-washing. Take it off before swimming or showering.
